Diversity: A (De)Motivational Poster

1 December 2010

Dedicated to The Breeders.

Everywhere.

Ouch:

The leech has two daughters:
   Give and Give.
 Three things are never satisfied;
   four never say, “Enough”:
   Sheol, the barren womb,
   the land never satisfied with water,
   and the fire that never says, “Enough.”  Prov 30:15-16 (ESV)

Double-ouch:

But turning to them Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For behold, the days are coming when they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!’    Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us,’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us.’   Luke 23:28-30 (ESV)

and then a note of grace…

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
    the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
   are the children of one’s youth.   (Ps 127: 3-4, ESV)
