New resource

17 September 2009

I discovered a new investigative resource.  Here is a link to charts of Average Sunday Attendance (ASA), Membership, and Giving (Plate & Pledge) for the Episcopal Church, through 2007.

Hnh, looks like 2001 was the high-water mark for ASA and Membership, with minor ebbs back and forth from that time until 2005.  From 2005 onward, it looks like things have been in marked decline. Paradoxically, the ratio of giving has been up, though even that looks like it has hit an inflection point from 2006 and 2007.

Pretty cool!

Here  is some interesting data regarding (e.g.,) St. Matthews Episcopal of Westerville, Ohio.  Membership, down after 2003 and ’04. Steep incline after 2004, back down after 2006  (What’s this thing about a steep decline, every three years?  Odd, that).

It looks like St. Matthew’s Westerville has been going through some big changes over the course of the past several years.

I wonder what sparked the changes.

I wonder how they’re doing now.

Do you wonder ?
